Iranda’s Blog: Fall In Love

Fall In Love

I came to Prague in September 2019. Since then, it has been a roller coaster ride for me. A completely new city, new people, new culture, new country, new continent. Coming from India, it took me some time to adjust to the city but once I did there was no going back. I have been helped by strangers since my first day and even today whenever I have faced any problem this city has opened its arms and embraced me like its own child.

Initially I would spend almost my entire day in the university, the atmosphere is such that I never felt like spending my weekdays anywhere else. We would go to the university, have classes till 4 or 6. Afterwards we would always have some group meeting for project. At the end of a tiring long day sometimes we would end up in a pub, drinking beer, playing dart, meeting strangers. This way we would always end up encountering some beautiful people. It is not just the person but the whole environment that made these experiences so memorable.

Then came Covid-19 and the whole world turned upside down. This gave me an opportunity to discover the nature of Czech Republic. It took me to beautiful mountains like the Czech Switzerland or to beautiful castles like Karlštejn. My time in Prague has taught me a lot, it has taught me how to take care of myself, to try and be more self-disciplined sometimes, to be completely carefree sometimes, and to be on time but importantly to live life. Being a young person in Prague is a great advantage, to be in the center of Europe with good connectivity.  Prague has both sides, a calm side and a wild side, both co-exist with harmony. It is a beautiful city with beautiful streets, buildings, people and it grows on you, slowly, and once you fall in love with this city you can never fall out of this romance.
