A sunny day in Prague, wondering what to do?

The paddle boats in Prague are the perfect summer activity to do with your friends or your loved one. You can find multiple locations along the river that rent out paddle boats, I usually go for the one called SPLAV at the Slovansky ostrov, which is a small island in the Vltava River.
The boat way offers views of Petrin Park, Sophie’s Palace, the Dancing House, Shooters Island, the Kampa Modern Art Museum, the canal locks, Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge. The breezy air and some beers make it a perfect day out with friends on a warm day.
Getting There
- By Tram: short walk from Národní Divadlo tram stop. Trams 2, 9, 18, and 22 stop here
My friends and I go often. We take our snacks and speaker, with our beers. The breeze on the river makes it the perfect hangout/activity with a beautiful view of Prague. The paddling can become an exercise as well if you take more than a few rounds around the island. You might also see some beavers and ducks by the island.
There are three rental services on the island, that rent out pedalos, rowing boats, and small motorboats. Other than SPLAV, there is also U Kotvy and Slovanka. Don’t forget to take cash to these rental services because they do not take any other types of payments.
Prices for basic 4-person Prague pedal boats start at CZK300 per hour and are charged on an hourly basis. It costs more if you want a swan or automobile or more seats. When renting pedal boats though, one of the passengers must present some sort of identification. They provide drinks for sale at some places, but we usually take our own drinks and snacks, if it is allowed.
What are you waiting for then, enjoy your summer in Prague!
