Prague University of Economics and Business defended position of the best business school in the Eastern European region in the Eduniversal 2022 Ranking
The announcement of the Eduniversal Best Business School Ranking took place on November 1st, 2022 in Cairo. For the first time in the Eastern European region, five universities took the top three places. Prague University of Economics and Business shares the first place with the University of Ljubljana, the second place belongs to the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and the third place is again shared by Corvinus University of Budapest with the Graduate School of Management – St. Petersburg University. On behalf of the University, the Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, prof. Ing. Petr Musílek, PhD. received the award. The Rector doc. Ing. Petr Dvořák, Ph.D. received the award today.
For 15 years now, VŠE has been regularly ranked among the top three universities in Central and Eastern Europe by Eduniversal, which ranks a total of 21 countries. Based on selected criteria, a total of 1,000 business schools are divided into five groups, which are characterized by the number of Palmes of Excellence. Only the top 100 schools can receive five palm leaves, which signify that they are universities with strong global influence, and VŠE is one of them this year.
This is the fifteenth year that Eduniversal has ranked business-oriented universities from 154 countries in nine regions of the world (the top three places for each region are always announced). The first step in compiling the annual rankings is the selection of the top 1,000 universities by an eleven-member International Scientific Committee (ISC). These schools are evaluated based on a number of criteria, which mainly measure their degree of internationalization, the reputation and renown of the school in the region concerned, and their quality. The third equally important step is the election of the rectors and deans of the selected 1,000 universities. In their election, they answer the question: “Which school would you recommend to your students if they wanted to study in your country?”
Eduniversal is a global ranking of management schools and an evaluation agency specializing in higher education. The organization is based in Paris and has been operating internationally since 2007. It compiles two rankings each year – a ranking of the 1,000 best business schools and a ranking of the 4,000 best master’s and MBA programs. These rankings are for students deciding which university to choose in one of the following nine geographic regions: Africa, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Eurasia and the Middle East, East Asia, Latin America, North America, Oceania, Western Europe.
