Student of Information Systems Management was awarded Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship

The Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship for the year 2023 was bestowed upon Rohith Parakkat, a dedicated student enrolled in the Information Systems Management (ISM) programme at the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics.

The Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship is an annual recognition reserved for foreign students studying international degree programmes at the Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE). The student, in addition to fulfilling her/his study obligations, must have contributed to spreading the reputation of VŠE in the Czech Republic and abroad, have motivated foreign candidates to apply to study in Prague, and have actively participated in research, educational or other activities for the benefit of foreign students of VŠE. The scholarship is awarded annually and has been awarded for the third time in 2023.

This year’s recipient, Rohith Parakkat, who is currently in his third semester of the ISM programme, has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the criteria. Shortly after joining the Master’s programme, he expressed a keen interest in promoting the university through various activities. Rohith became a member of the FIS Student Ambassadors group and has been proactive in communication with prospective and newly admitted students. He actively assists new applicants and admitted students with the logistical aspects of relocating to the Czech Republic, as well as supports newly admitted students by organising, with his friends, tailor-made webinars for incoming students. All of this, together with Rohith’s outstanding academic record, supports his eligibility for the Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship.

The scholarship was presented to Rohith Parakkat by Hana Machková, VŠE Vice-Rector for International Relations in a joint event organized by the Study in Prague consortium in the Residence of the Mayor of the Capital City of Prague on December 5, 2023. The ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Informatics and Statistics, Jakub Fischer.

During the joint ceremony four Prague public universities, including Charles University, Czech Technical University in Prague, University of Chemistry and Technology Prague, and Czech University of Life Sciences Prague also awarded the Professor Miroslav Vlček Scholarship to equally excellent students.
