VŠE submitted the Final AACSB Report and is preparing the Peer Review visit

AACSB International (AACSB), a global nonprofit association, connects educators, students, and businesses to achieve a common goal: to create the next generation of great leaders.

Synonymous with the highest standards of excellence since 1916, AACSB provides quality assurance, business education intelligence, and learning and development services to over 1,850 member organizations and more than 950 accredited business schools worldwide.

AACSB accreditation is known worldwide as the longest-standing, most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. Accreditation is a voluntary process that includes a rigorous external review of a school’s mission, faculty qualifications, curricula, and ability to provide the highest-quality programs.

Business schools are evaluated according to 15 standards, which are thematically divided into the following areas: (1) Strategic management, (2) Students, faculty, and professional staff, (3) Quality of learning and teaching, and (4) Student involvement and academic and professional engagement. AACSB closely monitors whether a school applying for accreditation actually meets the criteria and is improving. Accreditation is granted for a five-year period.

VŠE started the accreditation process in 2016 by sending the Eligibility application. In 2018, VŠE sent an extensive Initial Self Evaluation Report and subsequently submitted three annual Progress Reports. The management of VŠE submitted the Final Report and other documents and annexes this week. The Peer Review Team (PRT) has already received the Final Report. PRT will visit VŠE from November 13 to 15, 2023. The Peer Review team is led by the Dean of the Finnish Aalto Business School, prof. Timo Korkeamäki. The goal of the Peer Review will be to verify on the site whether VŠE really fulfills the AACSB standards. As part of the visit, the PRT will therefore meet with the VŠE’s management and all six Faculties and with students, faculty members, VŠE employees, corporate partners, and other stakeholders.
