Adaptation and Integration Courses for Non-EU Students

What is the adaptation and integration course?

The adaptation and integration course “Welcome to the Czech Republic” is a course during which foreign nationals (i.e. non-EU citizens) will be acquainted with the rights and obligations connected with their stay in the territory of the Czech Republic, with the fundamental values of the Czech Republic, with everyday life, culture and customs prevailing in the Czech Republic.

Participants will receive contact details of important institutions in the area where they live and most importantly, contact details of integration centres and non-profit organizations providing quality and free assistance.

Is it obligatory to take?

As of January 1, 2021, the obligation to take the course does not apply, among others, to holders of a long-term residence permit for the purpose of study.

Foreign nationals, to whom the obligation to take the adaptation and integration course applies, must take this course at the latest within one year of the date of the legal effect of the decision to issue their residence permit. Not fulfilling might be fined up to 10,000 CZK.

Detailed information about the obligation of taking the adaptation and integration course is to be found here.
